McCain finally shows up on Letterman to face the music, and Letterman doesn't hold back. In this clip, Letterman brings up McCain/Palin's tactic of linking Obama with Bill Ayers. Says McCain about canceling on Letterman a few weeks ago: "I screwed up."

The Republican machine is attempting to manufacture controversy regarding the moderator of tonight's Vice Presidential debate, Gwen Ifill. "This desperate attempt to pre-blame Palin's performance tomorrow night on something, anything is bad enough... in fact, it's pure racism."
