You can't fix stupid. You can fix the evil these guys are trying to spread though by putting these kind of criminal con men behind bars. Christ himself used a whip to shut down con-men like these.

Then, maybe, they will think twice about starting wars.
I'll give Obama credit though, he did turn down all proposed plans of attack for A-stan.
The fighting in that quagmire is very similar to Vietnam men at forward fire bases not being able to leave their bunkers. Then going out on patrols and walking through a village full of VC, er, Taliban, er wait.. Civilians?
The soviets couldn't do it, and neither can we.
Your view only holds though if war is always the absolute worst option available. That means that the world would be better if the allies had chosen not to go to war in Europe and it was still presumably under Nazi rule today...
War is terrible, sometimes our world is so screwed up though that not going to war is even worse. Your free to ignore that reality, but try to hold off on cheap shots against the people that have to recognize and deal with that reality.

If it's just propaganda I question how effective it is. It really seems to me that both pro and anti war sides emotional responses to this would reinforce their existing views anyways. Unless it's just pro-soldier propaganda, in which case I suppose it may be, but I'm actually ok with showing them as human beings and not just pawns in a pro/anti war debate.
I'm a christian. This video does not represent my faith. If it's a parody by some group I'm really not offended by this. If it's not though, I am horrifically offended and would like to speak with the nuts in charge.
From the overall style though I'd say it's gotta be a parody, mostly because even amongst the most extreme fundamentalists punching out your friends to 'let your light shine' borders on blasphemous. But then there are those Westboro Baptists out there so nothing's impossible.
There need to be a lot more Christians openly standing up and openly condemning groups like them. The fact that protests over abortion and gay marriage out rank the protests against false fronts like Westboro is a sad commentary on self-identified 'Christians'. From were I sit it seems that Christ like people wanting to follow christ are the minority in the 'christian' community.
^bcglorf I will say that as a Christian I am more offended by this guys ravings than anyone. >> : ^dgandhi I'd be willing to wager that the lady who complained about his workplace expression of homophobia to HR and got him fired, who is having her right to marry denied because homophobes are willing to vote away other peoples right, is probably more offended than you are.
If you'd like the statement better without the hyperbole: "I will say that as a Christian I am particularly offended by this guys ravings."
I just figured the figurative language better expressed my feeling on the matter. Clearly I wasn't trying to claim right to the absolute most offense over something that happened to strangers thousands of miles away.
There are laws against it because it happens, not because it doesn't.
So do you think it wrong in both examples then? I tend to be of the opinion that mouthing off to your boss over a personal difference of opinion is reasonable grounds for firing be it religion, sexual orientation, or the weather. It's not about being fired because of your religion, orientation, or weather preferences but over being completely disrespectful to your boss or co-workers.
>> ^dgandhi: I'm sure this guy would feel the same way if somebody got fired for telling their boss, who talked about church/god a whole FOUR times that day, that Jesus was a myth and they were wasting their life praying to their imaginary friend...You know just expressing their personal opinion, that, as an intelligent person, religion is wrong.
I'm sure that it would never happen. I think there's a bit of a point when your example would absolutely be deemed a discriminatory reason for firing someone.
Don't get me wrong though, this guy is a dumb dumb. Is he just as offended by coffee talk about somone's divorce? Affairs? How about weekend benders? I presume nobody at his place of work uses the Lord's name in vain while he's at work?
My problem with guys like this is the misunderstanding of their own faith and the bizarre notion that homosexuality is somehow special in the laundry list of sinful things that virtually everyone around him will do. Your under orders to Love your neighbor as yourself my friend, and there is no 'unless they sin' escape clause. In fact, Christ himself said he came not for the saved, but for the lost.
I will say that as a Christian I am more offended by this guys ravings than anyone.

I'd say it's real. As long as your willing to take the time to tape several attempts this is easily possible. Heck, kids in grade 7&8 don't need very many tries to hit a half court shot or two(as in if they try for 30 minutes they'll probably sink more than one).

If Brian is Seth who does that make Quagmire?
Quagmire must then be Seth's conscience. Which explains even more...

I'm so glad it was already dead, though somehow I get the feeling that wouldn't bother many chicken farmers that much...
I guiltily thought it would have also been funnier.
