Meant in jest, mostly to poke fun at her over-the-top tactics to use her sex as a means of garnering political support. I personally wish she would stop speaking for all of us females as though we all thought the same. What makes it worse is that her constantly drawing attention to non-issues in "hockey mom" terms (like saying that Katie Couric "annoyed" her instead of owning up) makes her sound like a 'typical' woman, distraught, emotional, dumb, and in need of rescuing. BARF. It really makes me ill.

But seriously I wouldn't mind seeing Chinua Achebe get it. I haven't always agreed with him on his politics but he's always been very insightful when it comes to race and culture. My second pull is for F. Sionil Jose. How exciting would that be?

VideoSift 2nd Presidential Debate Liveblog Party (Election08 Talk Post)
I'll be in class tonight - Tuesdays suck with work and class and wanting to sleep and whatnot. But you guys have fun. Who knows - since I'm missing the debate, the migraine I had from the VP debate might actually go away finally. *sigh*

Btw - instead of drinking phrases, I suggest the following McCainisms for those so (un)fortunate as to see the debates: "Haugh?!?! Haugh?!?!" And also, whenever he ends a word unnecessary with "sh" - as in "Yesh" and "Of coursh". That already makes me giggle so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to take a sip whenever that comes up.

I heard this track on the radio when it first came out and I bought the album almost immediately - what an excellent piece of work! That lame ass clapping at the end is pathetic though... flogging one's album on morning TV shows is a pretty humiliating end of the business I think. I'd strongly recommend all of her stuff.

Neither do I - though my friend said she can't stand to look at him in concert, but loves to hear him sing. (She then thought it important to also note that she is "not racist.") So I guess the Journey purists are just used to old ways
