Swiss Voters Vote To Ban Minarets (Mosque Towers)
>> ^dgandhi:
My take is that no democracy should allow the banning of specific religious symbols, banning all religiously themed towers(steeples, minarets, christmas trees > 5m), sure, only Muslim ones, not good.

We have fallen too far into the belief that democracy = right, which is plainly false. Sometimes, even often, democracy is wrong, that's why we have constitutional democracies, to protect minorities, and limit the destructive force of mob rule. It clearly didn't work here.

Couldn't have said it better.

On the one hand, we all talk about how stupid people in the world are...

On the other hand, we place so much faith in "the people."

FOX: Atheist Billboard Stirs God Debate
Um... Crillep... You may want to consider reading some books about logic.

Also, there was this really good video a while back that touched on the beginning of the universe:

Fascinating stuff.

Anyway... teapots and all that... proving a negative... etc etc...

This preacher is going to burn in hell !
>> ^crillep:
Why is it that atheists preach more than anyone?

Spirituality is personal, so if you need to push your belief or nonbelief onto others than you are probably seeking confirmation for your own thoughts.

I could comment on the "preaching" and pushing beliefs bit... But both of those points aren't nearly as interesting as your conclusion. So, I'll keep myself to one comment:

Everyone should ALWAYS be seeking confirmation in their own thoughts. That's pretty much the whole point.

Christian Side Hug
I thought it was fake too... I wasn't convinced it was real until I looked up their organization. Apparently it's from:
http://egconference.org/

"Encounter God" from "The Father's House" ministries... Their other parodies are also from that conference, I guess. The one with the "Russian" rappers was kinda funny. When I watched it and they said "No PDAs!" I thought to myself "No PDAs? that seems rather arbitrary... I mean, sure, they are kinda obsolete with iPhones and Androids and such, but..." then I realized what I was watching.

O'Reilly Knocks Palin On Lack of Experience
What a sad, sad world we live in when there's pundits (Hannity, Beck) that actually makes O'Reilly look good...

Kirk Cameron is on a Crusade to Debunk Evolution
Their modifications don't stop with just adding a foreword:

Zero Punctuation: Dragon Age: Origins
Hahahaha! It's soooooo true...

But the game is SO good. It's not ground breaking - it's just the best implementation of this style of game, so far, imo.

(Goes off to play more Dragon Age)

Rhonda -- amazing 3D drawing tool
I'd be willing to call it amazing if it was actually a tool for creating surfaces, rather than merely splines.

Child Labor in Michigan -Straight to Walmart, Kroger, Meijer
This made me go upstairs and check my fridge to make sure my yummy blueberries weren't enriched with child labor. Nope! Not Adkins blueberries, yay! (I got them from Meijer, in MI...)
